“Is it getting hot in here?” She asked herself and chuckled. Actually, it was getting cold. She hurried and finished her shower and got out. As she dried herself off, she imagined he was drying her body and warming her up, kissing her in a trail from her neck to her collarbone every touch sending an electric current throughout her body. She was starting to get wet just from the thought of his touch. He’d grab her and hold her close and then he’d pick her up and carry her to the bed. She began to caress her body, pretending that her hands were his, and her head started spinning. She moaned and groaned as she imagined him rubbing his swollen head against her entrance. She gripped her breast and squeezed as she lifted her hips off the bed up and down. She pressed two fingers into her opening as she lost control. The thought of him penetrating her increased her wetness. She envisioned him pounding her over and over, harder and harder, faster and faster. It was almost too much to bear as she pressed deeper. She whispered his name “Preston,” and she imagined him looking into her eyes before kissing her deeply. She continued using her other hand to rub her breasts intensely. She wiggled as a jolt of electricity shot through her body. Then she felt it coming. She let out a yell as she could feel a wave of pleasure crash over her. An intense sensation spread throughout her entire body. She squeezed tight and clenched around her fingers attempting to hold on to the feeling, if only for a few moments longer.
“Oh my God.” She lay in the bed breathing heavily as she looked up at the ceiling fan. “What was that?” She had never been so turned on in her life. She had never had such an intense fantasy after just meeting someone, and she never had this kind of reaction to anyone, and for it to be someone she didn’t know was really crazy. It almost felt real. Did it work? Did she get all her feelings about Preston Jacobs out of her mind? Would she be able to function at work the next day? She sure hoped so. She needed this job, and there was no evidence that this man actually liked her. Sam’s cheeks flushed as she realized that she was in trouble. This is more than a crush. She got up to wash herself off and laid back in the bed.
She tried to push all thoughts of romance out of her head. It’s not like it was going to happen anyway. All she had to do was keep all thoughts of Preston Jacobs out of her mind and out of her fantasies. She decided she would be completely professional at work and that’s that. She couldn’t afford to start liking the boss or think about having a torrid affair. It was all one sided anyway. He was rich, successful and far too good looking for taste. She preferred her men to be average. She didn’t have time to be worried about fending off women coming from all directions, or some man who knows how good looking he is thinking he could treat her however he wanted. She needed to focus on work and being the best executive assistant, she could be, as soon as she figured out how to do that.
It was getting late. She had to get up early for work in the morning. She laid there, willing herself to fall asleep, but she couldn’t. Her hands grazed her breasts. She rubbed her fingertips over her nipples and caressed herself once more as visions of his big, solid body overtook her mind. How was she going to get Preston Jacobs out of her head? It was going to be a long night.

“My mate.” Preston couldn’t stop thinking about Samantha. He had stopped thinking about finding a mate, thinking his day would never come. Not everyone was lucky enough to find the one they were meant to spend their life with. Now that he found Sam he was never going to let her go. She had monopolized his mind for the entire day. It was getting late, but Preston couldn’t sleep. He couldn’t focus or think. He tried lifting weights. He jogged. Nothing worked. His wolf was restless. There was only one thing that could calm him down, but he couldn’t have it, not yet. It took everything in him not to drive to her house just so he could get another glance at her, another whiff. He wanted to check on her and make sure she was safe. That was his duty as her mate. It was also his desire and his greatest pleasure. He didn’t want to seem like a creep, so he’d keep his distance, at least for tonight.
He paced back and forth many times over until he couldn’t take it anymore. “Fuck it!” He got in his car and drove. He had told himself that he wouldn’t go to her house, but twenty minutes later he had lost the fight within. He had parked a few houses down. He could scent her. Samantha. His mate. He got wind her arousal and instantly hardened. He tugged at his pants. His wolf was going wild. He wanted to be closer to her. She was alone. He listened harder. He could hear her moaning. She was pleasuring herself. He longed to be the one making her moan, touching and caressing her body, and making her scream his name. He unzipped his pants and grabbed himself through the opening in his boxers. He had never done anything like this before, but he couldn’t stop imaging Samantha in front of him on her knees taking his entire dick into her mouth, lubricating him with her saliva, and sucking firmly. Her wild hair falling over her face until he grabbed a handful as he guided her head up and down. She’d take him all in and hold at the base as the back of her throat tugged at his head. He thought about how wet and tight she must be. He rubbed his tip and worked his hand up and down the shaft. He leaned his head back. He had never been so hard in his life. He growled as he heard her moans. His pace quickened as he imagined her sucking the life out of him. Then he almost stopped in his tracks. He heard her. It was the faintest whisper, but there was no doubting what she just said.
“Preston.” She was calling for him. She needed him, and her deepest desire was for him. At least he knew that her need was as strong as his, and she felt the connection too. She wanted him just as much as he wanted her.
“Soon my mate.” He promised as he smiled. He snapped out of his trance, got himself together, and adjusted his clothes. He felt bad for invading her privacy, but he was glad that he did. He was more determined to take care of his mate’s needs. All of them.
Preston picked up his cell phone. Michael was not only his right-hand man, but also his best friend. He needed to talk to someone about his dilemma.
Michael picked up the phone and didn’t bother to give a formal greeting. “She’s your mate. Isn’t she?”
Preston grunted. “How did you know?”
“You certainly weren't yourself today, and the only thing that can have that kind of effect on you is something you haven’t experienced before, true love.”
“Tell me about it.”
“So, have you taken her?” Michael asked.
“No. I can’t do that. She doesn’t know or understand our ways.”
“I know, but the pull is too hard to resist, or so I’ve heard. I was just asking.”
“The pull is greater than I could have ever imagined. I’m usually in control. My wolf is angry with me, and its driving me crazy. The only thing that will calm him is Samantha. I’m trying to figure out how proceed and quickly before I lose my fucking mind.”
“Well you can’t just blurt out I’m a wolf. You have to make her fall in love with you first. Take your time and let her see who you are. That’s how it is with humans. It won’t be easy for her to accept, but she will come around. It’s more important that you be sure she will be accepted by the pack. She’s not only your mate. She will also be leading us alongside you. Is she capable? How do you think the pack will react to that?”
Preston growled. “She’s my mate. Of course she is capable, and I challenge anyone to question me about my mate, ever. What I say goes. Understood?”
“Hey man. I’m just playing devil’s advocate. I have faith in your ability, and I trust your decisions. You have protected the pack and led well so far, and we have all been better for it. Good luck with your mate, brother.”
“Thanks, brother.” Preston hung up. Michael was right. He should take his time, but who was he kidding? Preston was the alpha. He didn’t take his time. When he knew what he wanted he went for it, and this situation was no different. His mate would make his life complete, and he would complete hers. There was no greater happiness. His wolf would not wait long, and neither would he.
He sta
rted the car and pulled into her driveway. He wanted to see Samantha once more before he went to bed. He got out of the car and knocked on her front door. He heard her shuffling around and his heart began to race as she approached the door. She must have looked out the peephole, because he heard her curse to herself.
“Who is it?”
He cleared his throat. “Preston Jacobs.”
There was a long pause as he stood and waited. He could tell she was moving around a lot. He caught his breath as he heard the door unlock. Samantha opened the door slowly and poked her head out. She had a confused look on her face. “Mr. Jacobs? What are you doing here?”
Mr. Jacobs. That’s not what she was calling him earlier. “Please forgive me. I didn’t mean to disturb you. I just have something for you.”
“It couldn’t wait until tomorrow?” She asked. He knew she had to be wondering what he was talking about, because he didn’t have anything in his hands. She was suspicious.
“No.” He reached into his back pocket and pulled out her driver’s license. “I’m afraid not. You left this in human resources.”
“Oh.” She sighed with relief. “Thank you. I would have sworn I got it, but I could have gotten it tomorrow. You really didn’t have to bring this all the way here.”
“It’s not a problem. I’d feel better if you weren’t driving without it.”
“That’s kind of you. I’m sorry you had to go out of your way.”
“It’s my pleasure, Miss Davis.”
“Well, thanks.” She smiled at him as she reached for her license, and her hand touched his. An electric current passed between them. She must have felt it too, because she paused and stared into his eyes. Her want was a great as his.
He licked his lips. The door opened a little wider, and he could see that she was wearing a robe, a satin robe. His erection grew harder. He cleared his throat and smiled at her. “I should get going. I didn’t mean to disturb you.”
“It’s okay. I wasn’t doing anything.”
Preston turned to walk away.
Samantha called out to him. “Wait.” Got her. He turned around. “Ummm Mr. Jacobs you look like you’ve been working out. Can I get you some water?”
“Well…” Suddenly her phone rang. It must have caught her off guard because she somehow got twisted up and fell forward. It’s a good thing Preston was there to catch her.
His hands grabbed her hips before she could fall too far. He held her as tight as he could. “Miss Davis, are you okay?” He softly rubbed his palm against her face. He held her close to his chest as he took in her scent once more. He reveled in her body pressed against his. Her curves fit perfectly against his muscular frame. Surely, she felt how much he wanted her from the bulge in his pants. Her arms were wrapped around him holding on for dear life. She must have still been a little shaken. He looked down at her with lust in his eyes. She held his gaze. Neither of them was willing to let go, and everything felt right. He held his head close to hers. Their lips almost touched. He breathed harder and so did she. He moved his head to her ear and whispered, “Do you need me to stay?” His lips touched her skin.
She breathed heavily. “Yes. I mean, no. I’m fine. Just a little clumsy.” Her face turned red. “I should get back inside. I know you have a lot to do. I’ll see you in the morning.” She slowly peeled away from him. He allowed his hands to linger on her body until she was out of reach.
“It would seem as though you came to my rescue more than once today.”
“I’ll always come to your rescue, Miss Davis. I want you to think of me as more than a boss.”
“Okay, Mr. Jacobs.”
“Goodnight, Miss Davis.”
“Goodnight. Thanks again.” She hurried and closed the door.

Samantha tossed and turned all night after Preston left her house. Just the thought of his hands on her body was enough to send shivers down her spine. Damn he looked good, and his touch was electric. There was something about the way he looked at her, but she worried that last night was a series of coincidences that she built up in her head. The logical conclusion was that she fell, and he caught her. That was it. Any romantic fantasies were just that. Now it was time to put that behind her. She had a job to do. She had gotten out of bed early, and since she barely slept, she decided she would be extra early for work. She decided to wear a dress. It was knee length, black, and it hugged her curves in all the right places. She wanted to be comfortable and cute. She decided tame her curls today, putting her hair back into a bun, and she would wear heels and red lipstick. She wanted to get to work super early just so she could be settled, and she could hopefully impress the boss with her professionalism.
She stepped off the elevator onto the 40th floor and immediately felt nervous. Could Preston Jacobs be here already? He told her to be here at 7. It was 6:15. She wanted to get there before him. That would give her some time to breathe and relax before the butterflies took over. There was really no one else on this floor as far as she could tell. He probably liked having all that space to himself. She preceded to the office behind the reception area in front of Preston’s office to her desk. She sat down her purse and some coffee she had stopped for on the way.
As she took inventory of her desk she noticed a single red rose placed across the keyboard of her computer. She picked up the rose and inhaled its sweet scent. Her mind started racing. She thought hard. “Is this for me?” Did someone leave it here by accident? Did it just happen to be there? Is it from human resources? That’s weird. She twirled the rose in her hand as she thought briefly that there may be a chance that Preston Jacobs left this for her. A smile crossed her lips. Then she quickly pushed the thought out of her mind and sat the rose back on the desk. She paced across the floor and tried to imagine what the day had in store for her, but before she knew it, she was back at the desk picking up the rose again. She held it in her hand as she walked over to the window. She looked outside mesmerized by the view while thoughts of her boss occupied her mind. She must have looked like a lovesick idiot. She smelled the rose once again.
“Beautiful.” She heard his deep, raspy voice approaching her from the side.
Samantha froze. She thought she was prepared for this, but she wasn’t. She felt like she was melting onto the floor. “What?” she asked.
“The view is beautiful. Isn’t it?” She could feel his breath on her neck, and she couldn’t bear to turn around and look at him. By this point he was standing so close she could feel him even though he was not touching her. Her whole body tingled.
She cleared her throat as she squirmed. How did the essence of Preston Jacobs make her so wet with desire?
“Yes, the view is beautiful, especially the sunrise.” Her voice trailed off. For a second, she thought he may have been talking about her, but that was ridiculous. He moved closer to her. She could feel his body slightly pressed against hers. Her body tightened. This might be a little too romantic of a setting for her to function.
“It’s one of the things I like about this location. Look over here you can see the forest.” He pointed with his right hand and placed his left hand on her left hip guiding her line of sight. “I like to look out at the trees more than anything else. Nature calms me.”
Samantha was so nervous she was shaking, but she managed to spit out some words. “So, you like camping and stuff?
“You could say that. I know my way around outdoors.”
“So, if we were attacked by a bear, you’d know what to do?” Sam asked.
“I could take care of us.” He pressed into her hip.
Did he just say us? Damn. She tried not to read anything into it. “So,” Sam gulped, “you must have some serious wilderness training, boy scout.” She chuckled trying to lighten the mood.
She could feel his smile even though she couldn’t see his face. “What I do have are a very particular set of skills. Skills I have acquired over a very long time. Skills that make me a nightmare for people like you.” He
moved a bit closer.
“Or a dream.” Sam said under her breath.
“What was that?” Preston asked.
Shit. Sam panicked. She stuttered. “I… I mean a... a dream for anyone who goes camping with you.”
“Hmph.”
Sam continued, “I had no idea Preston Jacobs, genius, and self-made man was such a bad boy.” You have a sense of humor. I like that. Was she flirting? Stop it Sam. Stop it.
“I’m not a boy. I’m a man. A beast. A predator. I attack, and I’m relentless. Understand? I don’t want you getting into something you can’t handle, so if you want to get away, now is the time.”
Sam was speechless. So much for a sense of humor. That was the sexiest thing she had ever heard in her entire life. Her knees became weak, and she stumbled. He quickly moved behind her and grabbed both her hips and held her firmly. She let out a slight moan. “Excuse me. I’m so sorry. I don’t know what happened. You always seem to be around when I fall,” she joked. “Mr. Jacobs,” her voice turned serious, “you can’t say things like that to me.”
“Why not? Are you afraid, Miss Davis?”
“Should I be afraid Mr. Jacobs?” She could feel herself shrinking. She turned around and looked at him. There it was again, a flash of gold in his eyes. He was standing so close to her. His hands still on her hips. She knew it wasn’t appropriate, but she didn’t want him to let her go. She touched his hands at her side pretending she was trying to steady herself, but she really wanted to lock his hands in place. She rubbed a ring that was on his finger. It was gold and had some kind of crest or symbol. She hadn’t been able to make it out yet. He smiled. Another flash of gold lit his eyes. She swore she could feel something else pressed against her. She subtly pressed into him just to make sure.
